My little sister is involved in the 4-H program, and one of the things that they require the kids to do is to either create some kind of recipe or food, or make some kind of item for the home, or raise some kind of animal for the county fair in the fall. My sister decided that she would like to raise some chicks, so we got her a manual on how to construct a chicken coop, and also how to care for her chickens. She did rather well, and she actually took second place prize in the fair for her neat looking birds.
