I am a Filipino American. I was born in the Philippines and now am resideing in Virginia. My culture in the Philippines has a lot of good exotic food that probably the normal American would not eat.
One delicacy that I just love to eat is the Belly fat of a milk fish. Usually the milkfish is “daing na bangus” in the Philippines as it is cooked fried. Cooks usually cut the fish in half and is served flat. Of course there is the tasty meat all around the belly fat also. The belly looks like gooey slime but it tastes terrific especially if you add a lot of soy sauce and chili. I miss this kind of food. Although I can have it here in the US the taste of fish in the Philippines is still different.
